Introduction:  Production Schedulers are accountable for managing the item planning rules (master data) such as ordering rules, inventory levels, and safety stock levels, and for responding to ERP system alerts, action and exception messages to ensure the integrity of the end-to-end internal supply chain. This is the key day-to-day objective in maintaining a valid production and material schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understands concepts of ‘dependent demand’ and protects it through planning master data and behaviors.
  • Understands key principles of MRP-supported ‘auto-planning’ inside the ERP system.
  • Understands and responds appropriately with Planned Orders/work orders, Firm Planned Orders/work orders, and Scheduled receipts.
  • Manages valid orders for material replenishment, as directed by MRP action messages. (Does not use Excel for this purpose).
  • Responds daily to MRP action and exceptions messages.
  • Maintains Safety factors, as appropriate, based on appropriate statistical formulae.
  • Maintains material planning item master data parameters. Participates in data audits.
  • Maintains scrap and yield factors correctly.
  • Monitors stock levels for emergence of slow-moving and obsolete and recommends action.
  • Releases orders according to ‘Clear to Build Release’ protocols, meaning all released orders are doable and require no further authorization or intervention before execution.
  • Monitors order execution performance: item, quantity, date, quality status.
  • Focuses planning skills on meeting the Master Production Schedule as number one priority.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing requirements and planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with computerized materials control programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum two-year technical degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems; SAP preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong analytical thinker with problem solving skills.
  • US Citizenship required due to contracts with the Department of Defense

Location: 100 % onsite in Greater Cleveland, Ohio 

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which means that limitations relating to nationality may apply.
