Job Description

Position Summary:

The Global IT Program Manager is responsible for managing, owning and driving large complex inter-disciplinary projects and/or programs at Acelity. These IT Program Portfolio span multiple functional areas and encompass departments from both the Business and Technology areas. Management of these complex projects and/or programs includes stakeholder management, leveraging and disseminating Software Development Life Cycle best practices, and adding rigor and process to project/program  definition, implementation, and deployment.


Primary Duties/Responsibilities: (give an estimated percentage of time for each duty)


Manage a group of inter-related projects moving towards a common goal reporting to the PMO.   

Coordinates the strategic development, operational planning and implementation of a portfolio of various projects throughout the Acelity team globally

Works with the stakeholders to define and execute program business plan, focusing on delivering projects that support strategic vision and business priorities.

Recognizes and identifies potential areas for improvements to existing processes, policies and procedures.

 Defines needs, objectives and deliverables of a project within the Program Portfolio.

Provides strategic and Operational Governance within the Portfolio to ensure risks, costs and benefits of a project are fully realized.

Negotiates the scope and approach, and acts as liaison between appropriate groups/individuals and vendors/contractors.

Establishes planning process to align business needs with annual budget. 

Runs complex projects/programs from requirements to production. 

Ensures the execution of program is carried out timely and within budget.  

Aligns program objectives and initiatives with portfolio strategy.

The role requires interaction with all levels of management on both the IT and business side. This resource is required to effectively manage relationships with senior management, business stakeholders, third party providers and internal IT and business participants.


Qualifications

Experience:

  • Extensive Experience managing programs and customer relationships with key leaders.
  • 5-7 yrs Experience in IT project management, including SW development and delivery.

Other Required Skills:


Communication skills in a multi-lingual environment.

Demonstrated Influencing and leadership skills, including negotiation and conflict management 

Experience with MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, and Outlook

Proficiency and at least 2 year experience working with the HP Portfolio and Project Management or MS 

      Project tool building and managing schedules, portfolio financials and dashboard reporting.

Planning, organization critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Strategic planning and analysis

Customer-focused perspective, team work, negotiation, conflict management and adaptability.

Quick to learn, understand and apply new concepts and technologies

Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
