Partnering closely withย accountingย and key stakeholdersin the business, the role ensures alignment between management reporting and financial results, supports a smooth financial close, and translatescomplex data into actionable insights for senior leadership and the Executive Committee, while identifying key performance drivers, emerging risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.ย
What you will do:ย
Performance Management &Reportingย
- Preparekey reports, includingmonthly financial results package and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) materials for senior leadership and the Executive Committeeย
- Deliver narrative-driven performance reporting,identifyingkey variance drivers and trends, with a specific focus onthe CombinedRatio, Loss Ratio, and Expense Ratioย
- Analyzemonthly and quarterlyresults toย explain performancerelativetoplanandprior year, highlighting risks, opportunities, and corrective actionsย
- Monitor and report on keyfinancialandoperational KPIs, ensuringconsistency, accuracy,andrelevance for decision-makingย
- Monitor andvalidateto ensurefinancial data reported in PowerBI reconciles back to GL financialsย
Planning & Forecastingย
- Drivethe creation of theannual operating plan andad hocforecasting, aligned with:ย

- Validate assumptions, assessfinancialrisks, and quantifyimpactsunder different scenariosย
- Support business case development and evaluation, including changes in scope, benefits, resources, and timelinesย
What you need to Succeed:ย
- CPA designation or actively working towardsย
- Undergraduate Degree is requiredย
- Budgeting and Forecasting 5+ years experienceย
- Financial Planning and Analysis 5+ yearsย
- Technical Expertise in accounting related to the field 3+ yearsย
- Insurance industry knowledge 3+ yearsย
- ย Advanced financial analysis and modelling, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and profitability assessment across a full P&Lย
- P&CInsurance and financial acumen, with strong understanding of insurance performance metrics (e.g., Combined Ratio, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio) and regulatory requirements (e.g., IFRS 17, OSFI)ย
- Narrative-driven financial reporting, with the ability to translate complex financial results into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and executive audiencesย
- Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills, withdemonstratedcomfort interacting with, influencing, and presenting to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership and executivesย
- Problem solving and analytical thinking, with the ability toidentifytrends, diagnose issues, and recommend practical, data-driven solutionsย

Location:ย This is a hybrid work model that requires you to be in our Cambridge, ON office on Monday's and Tuesday's and working from home the remaining 3 workdaysย
The expected base salary range for this position is $59,500 - $110,000. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual's discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.ย
