Job description

Friends of the Coronado seeks an Executive Director with proven success in planning, management, fund development, board relationships, partnerships, communication and interpersonal skills, including social media. Demonstrated knowledge of historical research methods and/or archaeological fieldwork and/or experience in theatre/performing arts preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Administration
• Oversee the operation and business duties
• Serve as staff member to the Board of Directors
• Maintain the highest standards for communication and reporting to the Board of Directors
• Assist all Standing Committees in completion of their responsibilities

Programming Management
• Oversee the development and implementation of student and community outreach programming projects, and preservation projects
• Develop and maintain programs for efficient staff implementation

Financial
• Create and maintain budget controls
• Ensure a balanced budget for operations
• Perform accounting, banking, financial record keeping activities, and prepare records for annual audits as needed

Fundraising and Development
• Develop, implement and manage a campaign to ensure the continuing growth of the endowment, and support project funding needs, as stated by the City of Rockford
• Raise funds to maintain and improve programming
• Increase growth of the annual fundraising plan
• Lead the Board in creating a climate that encourages donors who, in turn, encourage others to give

Marketing and Public Relations
• Represent FOC in a positive light to the community at large
• Seek out and create opportunities to represent FOC in the community both in writing and in person events
• Supervise and develop a news release system to obtain media coverage
• Ensure that FOC effectively utilizes social/new and traditional media
• Prepare marketing materials and maintain website content

Partnership Relations
• Maintain good working relationships with FOC partners
• Maintain a list of prioritized future capital improvement needs for purposes of possible Foundation fundraising efforts

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
