Job description

Job Summary
This position is responsible for meeting operational goals and objectives and keeping the organization informed of current research and information relevant to the program. The Program Director will represent the agency in the community and will evaluate special community collaboration opportunities. All operations will be managed and implemented according to established best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
Committed to program success with experience in juvenile justice systems. Knowledge and training in restorative justice, trauma-informed care, and positive youth development, with understanding of social inequities affecting marginalized youth. Skilled in working respectfully with diverse youth and adults and responding appropriately to challenging or crisis situations. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and state-required automobile insurance.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field, or at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree; equivalent combinations of education, experience, and/or training.
Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and delegate responsibilities to program staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective service delivery.
  • Foster a professional, welcoming, and supportive environment for participants, referring agency personnel, and community or corporate partners.
  • Serve as the agency’s representative in the community, building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate program development initiatives, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities and services.
  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate trainings for mentors, mentees, and parents to ensure program fidelity and participant success.
  • Conduct thorough mentor background checks and credential verifications to maintain participant safety and program integrity.
  • Monitor program performance, outcomes, and participant progress, using data to guide decisions and improvements.
  • Support reporting and accountability processes, ensuring timely submission of internal and external documentation.
  • Oversee accurate collection, management, and analysis of program data for evaluation and compliance purposes.
  • Keep staff informed of current research, best practices, and relevant developments in youth mentoring and related fields.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff in addressing challenging client situations, promoting effective solutions and professional development.
  • Assist with programmatic functions as needed, including special events and initiatives that enhance participant engagement.
  • Evaluate program areas requiring attention, proposing solutions and implementing strategies to strengthen program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure full compliance with grant requirements and organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Director to support program success and organizational objectives.
