Job description

As Immerse Arkansas continues expanding into Northwest Arkansas, we are looking for a strong Program Director to be responsible for all components of Immerse’s NW Arkansas service delivery. The Program Director will focus on creating a supportive and empowering environment for youth, overseeing program implementation, managing staff, and driving programmatic excellence. The Program Director reports directly to Immerse’s NW Arkansas Executive Director while also collaborating with and receiving consultation from Immerse’s Chief Program Officer.

POSITION ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Executive Director - NW Arkansas, the Program Director will be responsible for:

Program Leadership - Oversee and guide all program launch and implementation, promoting and maintaining the integrity of the Immerse model and leading the program team to achieve a high level of impact with youth served.

Team Leadership and Development - Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to managers and coaches, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Support professional growth by providing ongoing feedback, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying training opportunities for staff.

Team and Personal Development - Continually seek opportunities for growth, understanding, and balance to maintain health, both individually and as a member of the Immerse Arkansas team. Promote teamwork through collaboration, support, and communication.

Qualifications

All employees will be thoroughly committed to Immerse’s mission. The ideal candidate will embrace Immerse’s values of with, worship, and scrappy (visit our About Page to learn what this means!). All candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:

Education: Master’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field required. Arkansas licensure is preferred.

Experience: Five or more years of working with youth who are at-risk or in foster care. Five or more years supervisory/management experience. Experience managing a federally or state supported program preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Thorough current knowledge of relevant federal and state agency guidelines
  • Understanding of normal adolescent development
  • Comfortable interacting with youth in informal settings
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to the value of cultural competency
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and ability to lead and develop staff and volunteers
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency in word-processing, data entry, and organizational software
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Must be available evenings, weekends and on-call as assigned, during identified days
  • Must have a driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to travel within the assigned region
  • Must successfully complete the required background checks and drug screening
