Job Summary

This position is for a Nuclear Station Leader who oversees the Performance Improvement group to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation at the facility. The areas of responsibility include Training, Emergency Planning, Corrective Actions, and Security programs, as well as leading the stations' ongoing Operations Performance Improvement (OPI) program.
Vistra nuclear sites include: Comanche Peak (Glen Rose, TX); Beaver Valley (Shippingport, PA), Davis-Besse (Oak Harbor, OH) & Perry (Perry, OH).
*Location will be based at one of Vistra's four nuclear sites*

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitoring and improving personnel and plant performance to ensure the site is operated and maintained in accordance with the provisions of the operating license, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other federal regulations.
  • Responsible for Leadership development and assessment
  • Oversight for the performance of the site and at time, fleet
  • Oversight of the emergency planning staff in maintaining the Emergency Preparedness Program which functions to protect the health and safety of the public and station employees in the event of an emergency.
  • Oversight and administration of the Security Organization.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant nuclear experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with emphasis on issue identification, structuring and creativity
  • Sponsors and supports initiatives/goals for top decile performance when compared with others in the INPO/WANO metrics
  • Strong quantitative skills and business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
