Required Related Experience

Required License/Registration/Certification
  • Membership in AAMFT; AAMFT approved supervisor, AAMFT supervisor candidate, or equivalent.
  • Licensed as an LMFT or license eligible in Kentucky.

Job Summary
The Department of Family Sciences in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at the University of Kentucky seeks applications for a 12-month postdoctoral scholar.
Individuals in this position will contribute to day-to-day operations of the Individual, Relational, and Financial Therapy Clinic (I-RAFT Clinic) under the direction of the Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) program director, as well as teach graduate courses in couple/marriage and family therapy, including clinical supervision with an opportunity to teach undergraduate courses.
Responsibilities: Under the direction and support of the Department Chair and CFT program director this person will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the I-RAFT Clinic including:
  • Facilitate growth-oriented and positive training environment
  • Screening requests for therapy services
  • Assignment of cases to intern-therapists
  • Coordinate with department business manager to track client payments/invoice clients
  • Provide timely information regarding client payments as well as casefile audits to intern-therapists and supervisors
  • Mentor and provide oversight to undergraduate student interns and graduate student intern-therapists working in the clinic
  • Marketing at in-person events as well as social media
  • Updating policies and procedures that meet local, state, and national laws, as well as COAMFTE standards for clinical training
  • Work with MGCAFE and UK IT professionals to ensure technology within the clinic is functioning
  • Coordinate oversight of undergraduate FFC interns with FFC program director
  • Assist CFT Program Director in organizing clinic records and data for COAMFTE re-accreditation
  • Support research activities utilizing clinic data and/or data collection processes
  • Maintain and build relationships with campus and community partners
  • Respond to other needs as they arise.

This person will also have teaching responsibilities in graduate courses in couple/marriage and family therapy, including clinical supervision with an opportunity to teach undergraduate courses.
Department of Family Sciences: Family Sciences is a student-centered department with eight faculty members, approximately 100 undergraduate students in our two majors, Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) and Family Financial Counseling (FFC), over 100 undergraduate minors, 16 master's students and 14 doctoral students. In addition to the COAMFTE Accredited CFT emphasis area, the department also offers two graduate certificates related to this position, Play Therapy and Family Financial Therapy.
