Position: Business Development Manager - Commercial & Industrial HVAC

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and developing strategic relationships within the vertical markets that we service in Industrial and Commercial fields. This role is essential in positioning the company as a trusted partner by promoting our full range of HVAC products, preventive maintenance programs, retrofit projects, and energy-efficient system upgrades.


The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC systems, a deep understanding of commercial and industrial environments, and a proven track record in sales and business development. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on field engagement to identify new opportunities and support long-term client relationships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue sales opportunities within targeted industrial and commercial verticals.
  • Sell HVAC maintenance contracts, system retrofits, and custom projects to meet client-specific needs.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, attend industry events, and maintain an active presence in the field to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams-including engineering, estimating, and operations-to develop tailored HVAC solutions.
  • Support the management of existing client accounts to identify expansion or upsell opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with other business development team members to drive collective success and support company-wide growth initiatives.

Additional Details:

  • This position is primarily field-based, with occasional office time for planning, reporting, and team collaboration.
  • Compensation is biweekly, with a guaranteed commission structure in year one to support a strong ramp-up period.
  • In year two and beyond, commission is performance-based and offers uncapped earning potential.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in B2B sales, preferably in the HVAC, mechanical engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not always required with relevant experience).
  • Maybe required to move items up to 80+ pounds using proper lifting techniques
  • Must be able to safely work from a ladder, scaffolding, man-lift, and other equipment
  • Maybe required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods of time
  • Maybe exposed to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and moderate-to-loud noise levels
  • Must wear required and appropriate PPE and clothing as necessary
  • Must show up to work promptly and on time as scheduled by your supervisor (schedule subject to change as needed)
  • Drive safe while at work and care for the company's vehicles

Other Terms of Employment:

  • 90-day review will be performed to review progress and goals
  • Your yearly performance evaluation will be in February/March. This annual evaluation may or may not accompany a pay increase depending on your work performance.
