Position SummaryThe Product Development and Supply (PDS) Analytics team is part of Business Insights & Technology (BI&T) function at BMS. PDS analytics team members partner with the PDS organization to answer key business questions that drive business strategy using advanced data science, analytics and AI. The Manager, Development to Launch Analytics, will be part of a collaborative data science and business insights team dedicated to answering key business questions for the enterprise, and will report to the Senior Director; Development to Launch Analytics. The Manager will develop advanced analytics and AI tools to answer business strategy questions for the member functions that enable end-to-end drug development and product launch activities, including Product Development, Cell Therapy Development, Clinical Supply Chain and Manufacturing Science & Technology.Roles & Responsibilities

The Manager, Development to Launch Analytics will partner with stakeholders from the member functions and the Business Insights and Technology team to develop and deploy new analytic capabilities to answer key business questions for PDS. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting Business Decisions - Work closely with PDS senior leaders to identify and address priority business questions related to CMC development, new product introduction and business operations.

Develop and Deploy Analytics and AI Capabilities - Answer key business questions using innovative analytic and data science techniques. Support the development of core analytical and data science tools including AI and machine learning models, ETL (extract, transform, and load) data processes, and statistical methodologies.

Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence - Consistently apply coding and data analysis best-practices and standards within the PDS BI&T aligned tech stack.

Supporting Business Decisions

Assist in driving the application of fact-based decision making within PDS.

Develop understanding of PDS business priorities, especially those pertaining to CMC development, new product introduction and clinical supply chain.

Build relationships with key stakeholders and SMEs within the functions and Business Insights and Technology.

Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence

Follow coding best practices.

Demonstrate enterprise standards for code development and data analysis techniques.

Author detailed documentation that describes development, assumptions, input data and data processing.

Conduct walkthroughs and peer reviews of work to ensure quality, cross-training, and knowledge management.

Driving Analytics and Capabilities

Design, develop, and implement a broad array of data analysis applications that solve complex problems in a computationally efficient and statistically appropriate manner.

Build for data automation, cloud computing and data lake integration within the team.

Explore new opportunities to further leverage data and analytical tools.

Ensure best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability, standardization and subject matter expertise.

Follow standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision-making processes and assist in appropriate escalation processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or other quantitative field with 4+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, applied AI/machine learning and/or statistical models

OR

Ph.D. in Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or other quantitative field with 1+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, applied AI/machine learning and/or statistical models

Demonstrated proficiency in data science and data engineering, including SQL, Python, dbt in production/operational environments

Experience in basic data architecture and database concepts

Experience in working with probabilistic methods, including Monte Carlo Simulations, probability theory, Bayesian methodsis a plus.

Experience in the life sciences and/or pharmaceutical industry preferred

Experience interacting with business stakeholders: understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/analytical information requirements. Experience with translating analytical results for business leaders

Strong project management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to learn new tools and skills quickly and gain and apply PDS specific knowledge.

Proven ability to independently balance and prioritize across multiple projects in parallel.

Ability to work with various teams across organizational lines and structures.

Compensation Overview:

Devens - MA - US: $105,560 - $127,916 New Brunswick - NJ - US: $95,970 - $116,287 Seattle - WA: $105,560 - $127,916

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work.
