Are you passionate about making a difference and skilled at building relationships that matter? The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is seeking a Development Manager to drive strategic fundraising efforts and inspire corporate partnerships that fuel our mission. As a Development Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of creating meaningful impact. You’ll manage a portfolio of approximately 50 mid-to-major corporate donors and prospects, while coaching a dynamic team of gift officers. Your leadership will ensure alignment across giving programs, foster collaboration and drive revenue growth—all to help us serve thousands of Oklahomans in need.
A Day in the LifeThe essential functions described below represent the primary responsibilities of this role and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.Portfolio & Relationship Management:• Manage a personal portfolio of approximately 50 corporate prospects and donors, cultivating relationships for sustained funding.
• Participate in donor meetings, corporate site visits and community events to deepen engagement and visibility.
• Assist with the creation and execution of corporate sponsorship packages and partnership opportunities for events and programs.
• Partner with the Director of Development to create and execute annual fundraising strategies, goals and metrics.
• Oversee strategies for employee giving campaigns, workplace engagement and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
• Work with Marketing and Communications to ensure donor communications, stewardship and recognition align with brand messaging.
• Engage in partnership cross-departmentally with Programs, Volunteer Engagement and Finance to align impact reporting and stewardship.
• Serve as a liaison between development and other departments to ensure smooth execution of events and campaigns.
• Build internal relationships to identify new partnership opportunities and leverage organizational strengths.
• Track and report on team progress toward goals, ensuring data integrity and effective use of the Fundraiser Performance Management
system.
• Review donor trends and campaign performance to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools for leadership visibility into fundraising progress.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and gift processing standards.
This role oversees four to six staff members to guide daily work and growth.
• Establish clear performance expectations and priorities to align daily work with department and organizational goals.
• Coach and evaluate employees using regular feedback, structured reviews and clear development steps tied to role requirements.
• Demonstrate inclusive, mission oriented conduct through ethical behavior and respectful communication that reinforces accountability.
• Manage performance outcomes by setting measurable goals, tracking progress and addressing concerns using policy and employment law.
• Carry out equitable talent practices through consistent hiring, onboarding, engagement and retention activities aligned to program and
funding needs.
• Communicate priorities and change initiatives using plain language and clear guidance for team members and cross functional partners.
• Maintain compliance and stewardship by following policies, legal requirements and funding guidelines and engaging Human Resources
when needed.
• Foster a high performing, value aligned team culture by demonstrating consistent leadership behavior, reinforcing expectations and
addressing behaviors that impact engagement, trust and performance.
• Derive and examine data insights to inform team decisions, track goal progress and guide daily operations.
• Review and approve team expenditures, ensuring alignment with departmental budgets.
Other duties, consistent with the scope and essential functions of the role, may be assigned as organizational needs evolve.
Required QualificationsHow you have spent your time:• Earning a bachelor’s degree or working for at least 4 years in a direct fundraising role.
• Working at least three years in a role with responsibility for coaching, directing or evaluating employees.
• Working at least three years in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations or a related revenue role.
• Managing employees with different roles, work styles, schedules or experience levels.
• Proficiency in common office applications and job-specific systems, including customer relationship management systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets organizational standards.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally for meetings, events, donor visits and assigned work.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies used for fundraising, communication and reporting.
• Ability to complete a background check, motor vehicle record review, drug screening and physical assessment as required.
• Experience with corporate sponsorships, workplace giving or cause-related fundraising.
• Exposure to individual major gift cultivation, donor stewardship or solicitation practices.
• Familiarity with fundraising campaign planning, event sponsorships or donor recognition processes.
• Experience guiding fundraising employees, project work or portfolio activities in a nonprofit setting.
Maintain a stationary position for extended periods while performing work in an office or vehicle setting. Operate vehicles safely by monitoring surroundings, reading signage and maintaining awareness of road conditions. Coordinate movements to manage vehicle controls and respond promptly to changes in traffic or environment. Perform tasks that involve coordination of multiple limbs and fine motor activities such as handling, grasping and maintaining steadiness for moving objects. Move objects weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally, which may include assisting with repositioning objects or yourself. Transition between stationery and other positions as needed during the workday. Access work areas and vehicles in a manner that aids job tasks, which may involve adjusting body position in limited spaces. Respond promptly to environmental cues and maintain focus during complex tasks. Auditory attention to recognize signals, alarms and spoken instructions that serve as key safety and maintenance indicators. Exchange information clearly in person or via devices in dynamic environments, including those with background noise. Maintain concentration and alertness for extended periods to ensure safety and task accuracy. Follow safety protocols, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required by Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to outdoor conditions, including temperature changes and humidity (e.g., summer heat, winter cold, rain, sleet, snow). Possible exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, noise, and vibrations. Work typically performed in a combination of environments: office, field locations and while traveling in a car or fleet vehicle. May involve occasional travel (up to 25%) for meetings, training or assignments for up to one week per month, typically allowing return home nightly. Work may occur in industrial environments (indoor or outdoor) with potential hazards and noise. May require flexibility to meet organizational and operational priorities, which may include participating in a rotating on call schedule, addressing occasional unscheduled issues and adjusting work hours during peak or critical periods. The timing and duration of such work varies based on business needs and is incidental to the primary exempt duties of the role.
