Overview
Hours: Monday - Friday, 10-15 hours per week during the school year, with additional hours possible during breaks and over the summer. Flexibility of scheduling, working around class schedules, and academic or other obligations will be offered.
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA)*, the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for the UW-Madison, is seeking a dynamic Enrichment Program Intern. The Enrichment Program Intern will support outreach and experiences with UW-Madison alumni, donors and Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) members. They will participate in planning and implementing experiences that engage University of Wisconsin alumni, and lead specific projects with Enrichment portfolio. The position will assist in marketing, event planning and program development across all areas of alumni relations, both here in Madison and with alumni networks across the State.

The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association is a private, nonprofit corporation that encourages individuals and organizations to make gifts to the university and to connect with the UW. In 2014, the UW Foundation merged with the Wisconsin Alumni Association® to better serve a growing population of UW alumni and donors. We believe that private support grows out of good relationships between campus leaders, faculty and program staff who need support, and the alumni and friends who want to invest in UW-Madison. Responsibilities
Assist with planning and implementing events and experiences to engage alumni.
  • Research and arrange event programs and logistics, including speakers and venues.
  • Communicate with UW faculty, staff, and alumni expert speakers.
  • Attend team planning meetings.
  • Assist with event / experience implementation and execution.
  • Provide customer service to alumni by phone and email.
  • Work collaboratively with program partners on campus, in the community, and with alumni chapters.

Assist with event / experience marketing and communication.
  • Attend and contribute in marketing meetings.
  • Conduct research on audience and market environment.
  • Summarize meeting and event information for email and Web communication.
  • Submit events on a centralized calendar.
  • Compile post-event information.
  • Regularly review web pages for content timeliness.
  • Create or curate content for new program web pages.

Perform administrative support functions for events, experiences and programs.
  • Assist with fulfillment of materials to alumni participants.
  • Prepare event collateral, such as name tags and signs.
  • Assist with procuring and delivering event supplies.
  • Work with registration and alumni databases.
  • Maintain and update documents and databases.
  • Assist with communications, including correspondence, surveys and website updates.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Sophomore or higher junior pursuing a degree in art, graphic design, marketing and/or communications.
  • Available for 15 hours per week (flexible hours and up to 25 hours per week in the summer months).
  • Sucessfully completed coursework in Marketing, Communication, Education, Nonprofit Leadership, or related field(s).

Other Qualifications:
  • Prior volunteer event planning or coordination experience is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with planning programs, events or working with volunteer networks is a plus.
