The Associate Director of Marketing - Program Development plays a critical leadership role in advancing the YMCA of Snohomish County's mission by increasing awareness, access, and participation in youth programs across Snohomish County. This position blends strategic marketing leadership, community-centered program growth, and cross-functional collaboration to expand reach in priority communities - especially those experiencing barriers to access such as cost, location/proximity, or limited program availability. A key component of this role is leading content-driven marketing strategies, leveraging creativity, storytelling, and strong social media expertise to connect with families, inspire participation, and build trust in the Y's programs and impact. This role will collaborate with marketing and branch colleagues to develop comprehensive marketing and communication plans aimed at growing revenue in youth programs. Building on core marketing responsibilities, this role leads the development and execution of targeted strategies that drive enrollment, deepen community trust, and position the Y as a leading provider of youth development opportunities, that foster achievement, belonging, and lifelong success.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies across digital, print, social media, email, and community channels to support growth in youth programs, including aquatics, sports, child care, STEM, and teen leadership.
Lead the development of a content marketing strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and conversion for youth programs.
Oversee social media strategy and execution, ensuring content is timely, relevant, platform-appropriate, and aligned with brand voice.
Identify and leverage trends, user-generated content, and emerging platforms to reach all stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams and partners to capture authentic, organic content that builds trust and drives participation.
Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and brand consistency.
Work with advancement teams and branch leaders to identify priority communities, school zones, and geographic areas for targeted outreach and expansion based on need and opportunity.
Partner with program and operations leaders to align marketing strategies with program capacity, registration goals, and community needs.
Develop and implement strategies to increase participation in underutilized programs, time slots, and locations.
Ensure program information is clear, accurate, and optimized for user experience and conversion.
Utilize data and insights to refine strategies, improve performance, and increase return on investment.
Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reporting on campaign effectiveness and program growth.
Collaborate with the Marketing Team to establish and meet deadlines for the creative development, production, and delivery of the visual and voice elements of program communications and events.
Collaborate with advancement teams and branch leaders to build and support strategic community partnerships. Develop outreach toolkits to support partner engagement and program promotion.
Support community events, tabling, and on-site enrollment efforts to increase visibility and access.
Support storytelling efforts that highlight impact, build trust, and reflect the Y's role in strengthening communities.
Qualifications:Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated experience in content marketing, social media strategy, and digital storytelling.
Thorough understanding of creative workflow processes and project lifecycle.
Experience with in-house creative agency or marketing/advertising is strongly preferred.
Basic understanding of Adobe CC software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
High-level of social and online media understanding, trends and best practices.
Strong project management skills.
Experience working with diverse communities and developing culturally response communications.
