Job description

Position: Program Innovation & Practice Coordinator (Hybrid)

The Program Innovation & Practice Coordinator supports training initiatives, learning efforts, administrative operations, and cross-departmental special projects within Program Services. Working under the direction of the Director of Program Practice and Innovation, this role assists with the coordination, development, and implementation of staff trainings, organizational learning initiatives, program development projects, administrative processes, and innovation initiatives that strengthen service delivery and support frontline staff success. This role combines project coordination, training support, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

 

Location: New York, NY 10020

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development, social work, human services, humanities, communications, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience supporting trainings, project coordination, workforce development initiatives, program operations, or organizational initiatives.
  • Experience working in homeless services, social services, behavioral health, or a related nonprofit setting is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication and interpersonal relationship-building.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Canva, PowerPoint, virtual meeting platforms, and training or learning management platforms.

 

Program Innovation & Practice Coordinator Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Director of Program Practice & Innovation in coordinating trainings, learning initiatives, administrative operations, and special projects across VOA-GNY programs.
  2. Coordinate logistics for trainings, workshops, retreats, meetings, and organizational learning activities including scheduling, communication, attendance tracking, material preparation, and follow-up activities.
  3. Assist in the development, organization, and distribution of training materials, presentations, facilitation guides, educational resources, surveys, reports, and other Program Services materials.
  4. Support innovation and program development efforts through research, brainstorming, pilot initiatives, and implementation support while collaborating with program teams and leadership on training and program improvement efforts.
  5. Provide administrative and operational support including scheduling, meeting coordination, invoice and expense tracking, purchase requests, payment reconciliation, credit card reporting, and coordination with Finance and other internal departments.
  6. Maintain organized project documentation, timelines, tracking systems, training records, and resource libraries to support effective implementation and follow-through.
