Job description

Dewberry is seeking an Alternative Delivery Design Manager for our West region (Denver, CO, Sacramento, CA or Washington are preferred areas). This is an excellent career opportunity to join a top Transportation Design firm. As a Senior Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to grow and strengthen our transportation practice in Washington and the West region.

This position offers the opportunity for hybrid or remote work.

The candidate will help support alternative delivery pursuits and projects, working closely with other Dewberry offices and teaming partners.  For the right candidate, this position also offers a fast-tracked promotional opportunity to help build and lead a project design and delivery team for the Pacific Northwest.  This could include creating and managing a new Seattle Dewberry office in/near Seattle to support current and future projects.

  • Manage all aspects of Transportation Alternative Delivery projects, including scope, budget, and schedule ensuring successful completion of projects.
  • Lead and manage support staff and document production.
  • Develop and maintain client relations with local design-build contractors and design teaming partners.
  • Participate in business development activities including collaborating with our team in the marketing of new projects, proposal preparation, teaming arrangements and client relationship management.
  • Interface regularly with WashDOT and/or Municipal/County clients.

  • BS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience working on transportation infrastructure projects.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Design Manager delivering alternative delivery and design-build projects.
  • Washington or California PE license required
  • SE license preferred
  • Knowledge of design-build teaming and professional services agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Effective client management skills.
