Now Hiring: Costume Coordinator for School Visit Program
Department: Costumes
Reports to: Costume Directorย 
Status: Seasonal, Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Union
Hourly Rate: $27.66/hr.
Expected Dates: 8/1/2026- 11/30/2026
Location: Ashland, OR
This position is represented by IATSE Local 154.

Principal Duties andย Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):ย 

  • Meet with Director of Educationย and Engagementย and School Visit Programย (SVP)ย directors and actors.ย 
  • Connect with Actors to assemble base costumes suchย as,ย black top, black pants, and sneakers.ย 
  • Collaborate with Actors on the design for specific added costume pieces for various scenes.ย 
  • Manageย SVPย budget of $2000.00.ย 
  • Coordinate withย theย Costume Rentals Managerย andย followย rentalย protocols.ย ย 
  • Pull and check out rental costumes.ย 
  • Purchase costumes and materials.ย 
  • Schedule fittings with Actorsย 
  • Provide all costumes to Actors by dress rehearsals.ย 
  • Complete all costume adjustments by program load out.ย 
  • Pick up all costumesย when teams return to Ashland.ย 
  • Collaborate with the Wardrobe and Hair Manager to use the OSF facility to clean costumes.ย 
  • Deliver all purchased costumes toย theย Educationย department.ย 
  • Clean, repair, restore,ย and deliver all rented costumes to Costume Rentals.ย 

Minimumย Qualifications & Skills:ย ย ย 

High School Diploma or equivalent. Three years working in Costume Shop Theaters sewing and dressing professional actors.ย 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:ย ย 

Experience working with dressing, fitting, stylingย actors. Ability to meet Director and Actorsโ€™ vision and designs.ย ย 

Demonstrate understanding of costume terms centering identities,ย body proportions, hair textures, skin tones.ย ย 

Respond, adapt,ย and remain flexible while accepting changes in an iterative process.ย 

Schedule and communicate collaboratively and effectivelyย by being clear and punctual.ย ย 

Alter, sew, clean,ย and repair costumes using industry standards.ย 

ย 

Physical Ability:ย ย ย 

Ability to move items weighing up to 40 pounds and to lift costumes weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb ladders and stairs. Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours in a single day with or without modifications.ย 

ย 

Hours Requirements:ย ย ย 

Daytime and evening hours,ย as needed to supportย theย School Visit Programย (SVP)ย duringย the months of August, September,ย andย last two weeks inย November.ย This role isย not to exceedย 40 total hoursย perย monthย without prior approval.ย Adhere to OSF shopย useย protocols.ย
