Job description

• Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
• Available for on-call, emergency response, incident investigation and regulation reporting responsibility. Responsible for performing root cause analysis for all safety related incidents.
• Design, develop and conduct OSHA training programs
• Responds and provides assistance to all emergency situations.
• Coordinate and conduct work area assessments, audits, and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions
• Evaluate hazardous conditions and recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or personal protective equipment.
• Conducts on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
• Conducts periodic inspections of job sites to assist managers and supervisors with regulatory compliance.
• Responsible for record keeping of the safety function, including OSHA logs, as well as other reports for outside agencies, as may be required.
• Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
• Use excellent customer skills, establish and maintain harmonious relationships with other employees, officials, outside organizations, and representatives of local, state, and federal agencies.
• Maintain and train to company’s emergency evacuation procedures
• Work with HR admin to ensure proper reporting all workers comp claims
• Assist and serve as backup to training coordinator to train associates relating to general plant safety, forklift operations, crane operations, lock out/tag out, HAZ COM, first responder, etc., and ensure that all safety training and operator’s certificates are up-to-date.
• Ensure that the company follows all OSHA practices and procedures.
• Ensure all ISO 14001 safety items are completed
• Any other duties not specifically outlined above are subject to incorporation into the overall duties of this position
• A minimum of 4 years experience reflecting increasing responsibility in safety, close familiarity with OSHA regulations, employee relations, and the development of policies and procedures is required.
• Experience with robotic welding and stamping operations is preferred.
• The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong customer-service attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with a variety of desktop computer applications is also required.
