Job Description:
Brains and Motion is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to lead and support the day-to-day operations of our dynamic After-School & Guided Recess Programs and Summer Camps across multiple schools throughout the area. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual with a background in STEM, sports, and the arts to make a meaningful impact on student experiences and program quality.
The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of experience in youth programming, a strong understanding of coaching sports and/or integrating STEM and arts education, and a commitment to enhancing the learning and physical activity experiences for students. If you're a highly organized, proactive leader with a passion for working with kids, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Coordination: Partner with schools to coordinate the logistics of equipment, shipping, and storage to ensure smooth operation of each program.
  • Team Support: Communicate regularly with instructors to ensure all daily programs are properly staffed and running smoothly.
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage company inventory at program sites, ensuring equipment is available and in good condition.
  • Attendance Reporting: Accurately track daily attendance, including reporting absences and securing substitutes when needed.
  • Instructor Support: Step in to assist as an instructor or coach when necessary to maintain program continuity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company at school and district functions, building strong relationships with educators, administrators, and parents.
  • Training & Development: Assist the Program Manager with the training and professional development of instructors and coaches to ensure program quality.
  • Site Monitoring: Visit program sites regularly to ensure smooth operations and address any issues in real time.
  • Administrative Support: Help the Program Manager with administrative tasks including flier delivery, equipment preparation, and inventory management.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to take on a variety of tasks as the needs of the program evolve.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, while also being able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree (or equivalent work experience or college credits).
  • 3+ years experience in youth programming, with at least 2 years as an instructor or coordinator, preferably across multiple sites.
  • A genuine passion for sports, STEM, and the arts, with a commitment to fostering a love of learning and physical activity in young learners.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and resolve issues efficiently.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Calendar) and project management tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs and engage in physical activities as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned geographic area and adapt to evolving program needs.

Compensation: $30/hour up to 29 hours per week
Job Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday to Friday (Some Weekends)
Work Location: Wilsona School district- Hybrid (Some admin work can be done at home in the mornings, but this person is expected to be onsite daily while programs are running)
