POSITION: Preschool Teacher - 1.0 FTE
GSRP Preschool - (Great Start Readiness Program)
LOCATION: To be determined
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate with Early Childhood endorsement (ZA), (ZO), or (ZS).
  2. Experience teaching preschool or kindergarten level children preferred.
  3. Experience and/or ability to implement a developmental curriculum.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in early childhood education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Plans and implements a developmentally appropriate program using centers for preschool children per department and state licensing guidelines.
  2. Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
  3. Maintains program equipment and supplies and maintain an up-to-date inventory list.
  4. Develops effective communication with the parents of children enrolled in the program.
  5. Provides a safe, nurturing, child-oriented environment and meet Environmental Health guidelines regarding cleanliness.
  6. Assists Early Childhood Director in ensuring site meets state licensing regulations, Great start to Quality standards and NAEYC accreditation guidelines.
  7. Completes all appropriate paperwork including but not limited to lesson plans, purchase order requisitions, attendance records and accident reports.
  8. Observes and assesses children's growth using formal and informal instruments and maintain a portfolio for each child.
  9. Conducts conferences with parents throughout the year.
  10. Supervises classroom assistants and provide input for performance evaluation.
  11. Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Director.
