Job Status: Exempt


Job Summary


Responsible to assist the supervisor in the delivery of quality services to each individual served by A New Leaf. Within the vocational program develops, monitors, and coordinates services for individuals served; Completes all documentation on individuals as it pertains to their program; May provide direct care services as needed. Works with individuals to accomplish all facility-based job time studies. Schedule promotional events and awareness programs as required.


Essential Functions:

  1. Have and maintain a valid Oklahoma driverโ€™s license. Have a dependable vehicle at all times. Have and maintain automobile insurance coverage at all times. Maintain eligibility to operate agency vehicles.
  2. Physical capacities must include bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 30 pounds.
  3. Work flexible schedule based on schedules of persons served by and needs of A New Leaf.
  4. Follow policy & procedures of A New Leaf.
  5. Ensures all individuals served are safe in their working environment and program participation at all times.
  6. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, complete requires documentation and reports required by A New Leaf & funding sources.
  7. Fulfills all training and in-service requirements necessary to work with individuals served.
  8. Obtain Employment Specialist/Program Coordinator certification within six months of employment.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Handles all the daily needs of individuals within the vocational program. This would include but is not limited to things such as: assisting direct care staff with transportation, missing lunches, schedules, appointments, etc.
  2. Ensures the health, safety, and well-being of individuals in ANL programs; Contributes to a positive, safe working environment.
  3. Coordinates and completes all of the paperwork to prepare for annual team meetings. This includes but is not limited to Vocational Assessments, Methods/Outcomes, Unit Requests, IP Packets, and items requiring parental signatures.
  4. Monitors and evaluates the progress of individuals (outcomes & methods), reporting results all in cooperation with the interdisciplinary team.
  5. Completes all daily & monthly required documentation: timesheets, monthly reports, etc.
  6. Ensures all training data and monthly reports are completed and filed appropriately.
  7. Completes all facility-based time studies.
  8. Provides training to staff working with individuals in facility settings. Utilizes training techniques to ensure production levels are met and all staff is competent in their skills.
  9. Monitor compliance for DDSD Quality Assurance on all in-service issues. Assists in providing correction for QA issues under the direction of the supervisor.
  10. Interacts with trainees served to promote self-esteem, confidence, and morale. Participates actively to ensure the happiness and well-being of trainees. Treats individuals with dignity & respect.
  11. Provides direct care back up within the facility in the absence of staff; provides back up direct care services in the community in the absence of management.
  12. Using A New Leafโ€™s system will ensure that all client personal data is accurate and up to date.
  13. Represents individuals in the program in a positive manner; acts as a positive role model for all individuals served. Represents A New Leaf in a professional, unobtrusive manner at all team meetings.
  14. Maintains individual's confidentiality; safeguards individual's rights.
  15. Works with Quality Assurance and Director of Vocational Services to maintain individual files, assuring compliance with all applicable crediting and licensing standards. Assists in providing correction for QA issues under the direction of the DCS.
  16. Performs duties as requested to meet the needs of A New Leaf.
  17. Develops & maintains a sound working relationship with case managers and parents Relates well with the public, parents, customers, visitors, state employees, and other provider agencies.
  18. Communicates clearly and concisely with supervisor to ensure the flow of information, documentation needs to be met and all other client information is shared.
Requirements:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification
  • Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment. This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/her designees.
  • Community Services Registry checks (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services. The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.
  • Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either is free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age โ€“ 21 years old.
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a related field preferred and/or minimum of four years of any combination of college-level education and/or full-time equivalent experience in serving people with disabilities.
  • Work experience in the field required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to successfully complete all training requirements.
  • Expressed desire to work with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have decision-making ability.
  • Must have the basic mathematical ability.
  • Must possess Oklahoma driverโ€™s license with acceptable, insurable driving record and safe, reliable vehicle.
