THE FORUM  is recruiting for a hospitality focused Program Coordinator to join our team! The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Programs Director with planning, coordinating, and directing a wide and varied scope of activities and programming which meet the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, vocational, social, physical, and environmental needs of the residents

Hourly Wage:  $ 26.46- $ 37.32

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Program Coordinator: 

  • Assist with planning and coordinating activities and events, discussion groups, a variety of individuals groups, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, off-property trips, special events, IT support, in-house movies, instructional courses such as , arts and crafts, seminars, workshops, presentations; Active Aging Week, arranging Alzheimer/Dementia events, helping at marketing events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with lectures volunteers, community resources, performers, etc. who can provide programming to the residents.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities/events and host special events when needed.
  • Manage policies and procedures for IL recreation services based on residents' social, psychological, and physical needs according to property and company guidelines.
  • Responsible for submitting work orders to the appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the arrangement of all AV equipment setup & take down for all required events. Will initiate introduction and closing remarks of speakers/entertainers.
  • Obtain and document information concerning vendors for flyers and sign-up sheets. This could consist of bios, program information, A.V requirements, etc.
  • Organize & follow-through on all accounting details for events that require payment.
  • Be familiar with budget guidelines within the department.
  • Always maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information.
  • Organize and arrange all subscriptions set up by the Program Department. This includes but is not limited to purchasing and exchange of tickets, sign-up sheets, advertising, payment arrangements, and accounting procedures. Will do the check requisitions for any that are not charged to the corporate card.
  • Participate in the planning of any scheduled property event as needed, e.g., Anniversary Celebration, Forum Olympics, etc.
    Coordinate resident transportation needs through the transportation department in a timely manner.
  • Plan and organize monthly trips for the residents. Serve as escort for residents when needed.
  • Provide programming to promote opportunities for enhanced personal wellness, in accordance with the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.
  • Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook, Excel), and LCS applications with the ability to learn new applications.

Here are a few of the qualifications: 

  • AA degree in relate field or two years or more work experience in the senior industry or
    work- related field.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Be able to present in small and large group settings.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook, Excel), and LCS applications with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work with the elderly.
