Role: Program Coordinator
Teen Programming, Workforce Development, Program Quality, and Daily Club Operations
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator serves as a key member of the Club leadership team and is the organizational lead responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of teen-focused programming within the Club. Reporting to the Club Director, this role provides strategic and operational oversight of teen recruitment, retention, workforce readiness initiatives, college and career exploration, leadership development, and overall teen member outcomes.
This leader ensures that Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta's Future READY framework and Life & Workforce Readiness initiatives are activated with fidelity and consistency throughout all teen programming. The coordinator translates organizational goals into measurable outcomes for teen engagement, workforce development, leadership growth, academic success, and post-secondary readiness.
In addition to leading teen services, this position serves as the operational lead in the absence of the Club Director, providing oversight of daily Club operations, staff support, member supervision, safety practices, and program implementation.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Teen Programming Leadership
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of all teen-focused programming.
- Develop annual goals, objectives, and performance metrics for teen services.
- Create and implement recruitment and retention strategies that increase teen membership and engagement.
- Ensure programs support leadership development, life skills, character development, and academic success.
- Coordinate Keystone Club, Youth of the Year, service-learning opportunities, and other BGCA leadership programs.
- Monitor teen participation, attendance, and engagement trends and implement corrective action when needed.
2. Workforce Development & Career Readiness
- Serve as the Club lead for workforce development initiatives and Life & Workforce Readiness programming.
- Coordinate career exploration opportunities, job shadowing experiences, internships, industry tours, and workforce development events.
- Build relationships with employers, workforce agencies, colleges, universities, and community partners.
- Assist youth in identifying educational, career, scholarship, and employment opportunities.
- Track and report workforce readiness outcomes, certifications earned, employment placements, and post-secondary enrollment.
- Support implementation of Industry Clubs and other innovative teen workforce initiatives.
3. Club Operations & Program Quality
- Assist the Club Director in overseeing day-to-day Club operations and program delivery.
- Serve as the operational lead during the Club Director's absence.
- Provide support, guidance, and coaching to program staff.
- Monitor daily programming to ensure activities are safe, engaging, and aligned with organizational standards.
- Address operational concerns, member behavior issues, parent inquiries, and staff support needs as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, staffing requirements, and organizational expectations.
- Support implementation of BGCA Program Quality Standards and organizational initiatives.
4. Data Management & Compliance
- Ensure completion and accuracy of all required program and grant-related data collection.
- Monitor attendance, participation, academic progress, and program outcomes.
- Gather, analyze, and enter data into organizational systems.
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, stakeholders, and funders.
- Administer surveys and assessments as required.
- Monitor program implementation for fidelity and compliance.
- Organize and support Advisory Council meetings and stakeholder engagement opportunities.
5. Community Partnerships & Member Engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, workforce agencies, employers, and community organizations.
- Attend open houses, community events, PTA meetings, and partnership meetings as needed.
- Represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta in community partnerships and workforce initiatives.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to increase awareness and participation in teen programming.
6. Team Leadership & Culture
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and excellence among teen program staff.
- Provide coaching and support to staff involved in teen programming and workforce initiatives.
- Participate in staff meetings, leadership meetings, and organizational trainings.
- Model the mission, values, and culture of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Youth Development, Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth, preferably ages 13-18.
- Experience coordinating programs, events, workforce development initiatives, or educational programming.
- Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
Preferred
- Experience in Boys & Girls Clubs of America or other youth-serving organizations.
- Experience with workforce readiness, career pathways, or college access programming.
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
- Familiarity with BGCA program quality standards, NYOI, and Life & Workforce Readiness frameworks.

Working Conditions
- Regular interaction with youth ages 13-18.
- Local travel required for college visits, workforce development events, community partnerships, and organizational meetings.
- Work is performed in Club facilities, schools, community locations, and office settings
- Occasional overnight travel may be required to attend conferences, professional development events, BGCA trainings, leadership summits, and organizational meetings.
- Some evening and weekend work is required to support teen programming, workforce development events, conferences, community partnerships, and organizational initiatives.
