The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking Summer Program Aides for our Sapulpa Red Shield Youth Center, located in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Job Summary
Assists Branch Manager and Program Coordinator with Summer Day Camp program.
• Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and safety of members.
• Exhibits control of children and when needed, displays proper discipline techniques.
• Ensures productive work environment.
• Ensures that daily activities are in compliance with The Salvation Army Red Shield policies and regulations.
• Assists in preparing and providing field trips for children.
• Assists in organizing, implementing and evaluating activities and programs for Summer Day Camp Program
• Performs cleaning duties-taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming rooms and sweeping/ mopping hallways or gym.
• May provide snacks to children.
• Assists and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of principles/practices of First Aid and CPR
• Ability to ensure the safety of children.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Education and Experience
HS diploma or GED AND two years' experience working with children OR and equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid
Physical Requirements
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a gymnasium environment where there is a little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust dirt, and the like. Work may also be performed outside where there may be discomfort associated with changes in weather, noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
