Compensation: Competitive leadership compensation aligned with an annualized salary equivalent of approximately $75,000+, based on experience and qualifications.

About Big Ideas Educational Services

Big Ideas Educational Services is a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality after-school, summer enrichment, academic intervention, STEM, and youth development programming for elementary-aged students throughout Miami-Dade County.

As our organization continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced educational leader to oversee the daily operations of multiple program sites while supporting the continued growth and success of our leadership team.

Position Overview

The Program Coordinator serves as a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing multiple school-based programs throughout Miami-Dade County. Reporting directly to the Program Director, this position provides leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to Site Coordinators while ensuring the successful implementation of high-quality educational programming.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining program quality, supporting staff development, ensuring compliance with grant and organizational requirements, strengthening school partnerships, and promoting operational excellence across all assigned sites. This individual plays a key role in developing leaders, solving operational challenges, and ensuring consistency throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Site Oversight
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to Site Coordinators across multiple program locations.
  • Conduct routine site visits to monitor program quality, compliance, safety, and daily operations.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Site Coordinators through regular observations, feedback, and leadership meetings.
  • Ensure consistency in program implementation across all assigned sites.
  • Support daily operational decision-making and problem-solving.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training Site Coordinators and program staff.
  • Evaluate staff performance and develop improvement plans when necessary.
  • Lead leadership meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Program Operations
  • Ensure all academic, enrichment, and youth development programming is implemented with fidelity.
  • Monitor staffing schedules, attendance, payroll coordination, and operational reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Instructional Coach to support instructional quality and student outcomes.
  • Assist in planning organization-wide initiatives, family engagement events, and special projects.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, school district expectations, grant requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Review attendance, enrollment, and program documentation for accuracy.
  • Support monitoring visits, audits, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Analyze program data and recommend operational improvements.
School & Community Partnerships
  • Build strong working relationships with school administrators, district personnel, families, and community partners.
  • Serve as a resource for Site Coordinators when addressing school or parent concerns.
  • Represent Big Ideas Educational Services professionally throughout the community.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in education, youth development, childcare, nonprofit programming, or school-based operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, or developing staff.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between multiple school sites throughout Miami-Dade County.
Preferred
  • Experience supervising multiple educational or after-school program sites.
  • Knowledge of grant-funded programming, including 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and The Children's Trust.
  • Experience working within Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred.
