Job description

Program: Woodycrest Supportive Housing | 984 Woodycrest Avenue, Bronx, NY 10452ย 

What Youโ€™ll Doย 

As a Program Assistant with one of our Supportive Housing programs, youโ€™ll provide administrative support to the program staff. This program provides supportive permanent housing for people who are formerly homeless or otherwise less privileged with the goal of promoting independent living skills, increased housing stability, and well-being. Youโ€™ll report to the Executive Director and help ensure the program runs smoothly by working closely with the Director of Supportive Housing, as well as others on the team.ย 

Your responsibilities will include:ย 

  • Providing support for ongoing and special projects and preparing required weekly and monthly program reports (which include CAPS, TMS, LOS, etc.)ย 

  • Answering phones and scheduling meetings, trainings, and interviews.ย 

  • Coordinating student intern schedules.ย 

  • Providing backup to the Business Manager for new hire paperwork, payroll, petty cash, and maintenance of program inventory.ย 

  • Assisting with creation of promotional materials, outreach letters, and other informational mailings.ย 

  • Assisting with creation, editing, and dissemination of program forms.ย 

  • Scheduling events and participating in program outreach efforts to community-based organizations to increase access to services for residents.ย 

  • Coordinating skill-building workshops with the residents in the building.ย 

Youโ€™re a great fit for this role if you have:ย 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (with a higher education level even better).ย 

  • At least 3 yearsโ€™ experience working in a not-for-profit organization.ย 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to enable successful management of multiple tasks in a timely manner in a fast paced and demanding environment.ย 

  • Ability to take the initiative, be dependable and resourceful, and pay keen attention to detail.ย 

  • Tech savvy and experience with data collection, tracking, and reporting.ย 

  • Strong verbal, writing, and negotiation skills.ย 

It would be helpful (but not required) if you have:ย 

  • Valid US driver's license.ย
