Job description

Student Assistant - Pre-Employment Transition Services Program
Salary: Minimum Wage
The Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program provides students with authentic learning experiences intended to build upon employability skills and provide students with authentic learning experiences in various industries. Students in the program can participate in a paid 45 hour work experience that can be located on or off campus based on the student's interests. The official placement will be determined in concert with the student and the applied learning coordinator.
Students who participate in the Pre-ETS program and the 45-hour work experience are responsible for the following:
  • Meeting with Applied Learning Coordinator and/or the Coordinator of Pre-ETS to determine appropriate placement;
  • Meeting with Pre-ETS staff to learn about the onboarding process and how to complete mandated payroll forms;
  • Participating in the work experience and demonstrating soft skills such as time management, professionalism, communication, etc.;
  • Completing weekly timesheets that document the hours present at the work site and getting them signed off by the site supervisor;
  • Turning in timesheets to the Pre-ETS office on a weekly basis;
  • Journaling internship experiences on a weekly basis and submitting with timesheet;
  • Completion of tasks assigned by work site supervisor.
