FLSA Status: Hourly
1st Shift Schedule: 64hour bi-weekly (with every other weekend), 8:00am to 4:30pm
General Job Description:
The Program Instructor is responsible for assisting the Program Manager/QP in the service coordination and delivery for the Life Choices Program. The Program Instructor will assist with planning and will implement of all program activities and related services for the consumers, as well as assist with administrative duties. The Program Instructor's role is to teach and assist the consumers in an environment that will help them reach their maximum potential.
Essential Duties:
  • Assists Program Manager/QP with program responsibilities, daily instruction, and oversight of program consumers.
  • Implements written lesson plans/curricular activities an appropriate level for each participant based on their current strengths and needs.
  • Promotes consumer self-direction in making meaningful choices and decisions by providing opportunities for concrete life experiences related to possible choices.
  • Assists with the overall development of the Person Centered Plan.
  • Assists with writing lesson plans and planning associated activities.
  • Reviews consumer goals and plans monthly.
  • Provides data to assist Program Manager/QP with reports as to the status of the consumers on their objectives.
  • Work with consumers on a daily basis on PCP objectives and record data on progress.
  • Maintain accurate data records and enter data into computer (Therap) regularly.
  • Keep Program Manager and other key staff informed about major participant specific issues.

Minimum Age and Level of Education Required:
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • 2 years previous IDD experience
