Location: Brockton WIC Office
Hours: Tuesday–Friday, 1:00pm–6:00pm
Salary Range: $19–$21/hour

What You’ll Do:

The Program Assistant supports daily WIC clinic operations by providing administrative, customer service, and participant intake support.

Reception & Front Desk Support

• Answer and direct incoming phone calls
• Screen applicant inquiries for program eligibility
• Schedule and reschedule appointments, including reminder calls
• Greet participants and direct them to appropriate staff
• Manage participant flow within the waiting area
• Perform general clerical and administrative tasks

Participant Processing & Support

• Follow protocols for participant certification and recertification
• Verify identity, income, residency, and eligibility requirements
• Enter participant data accurately into WIC systems
• Educate participants on WIC benefits, approved foods, and usage at vendors
• Explain participant rights and responsibilities
• Provide referrals to MassHealth, SNAP, TAFDC, and other services
• Notify participants of certification status, missed benefits, or eligibility changes

Benefits & Program Operations

• Issue and reissue food and formula benefits as prescribed
• Maintain security and proper handling of WIC card stock
• Assist with quality assurance activities and program compliance

Other Responsibilities

• Support clinic operations at multiple WIC sites as needed
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned


What You Bring:Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of one (1) year of general office experience required
• Experience in healthcare or community-based services preferred
