Job description

Job Title:       Program Assistant

Reports to:     Operations Team Leader

Position Summary:

The Program Assistant supports our program by reaching out to Ready Readers sites to confirm enrollment information for the school year. This person will make phone calls to the sites, receive phone calls from sites, send emails to directors and teachers as needed, and follow up via email when appropriate. This person will also be responsible for updating our database with the information they collect.

Hours: M-F, 9:00-2:00

Timeframe: Monday 8/31/2026 – Monday 9/14/2026 (excluding Labor Day Monday 9/7/2026)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Calling and emailing Ready Readers (RR) sites to confirm classroom information.
  • Answering phone calls from RR sites to assist with enrollment.
  • Updating our database with site information.
  • Consistently following up with RR sites to gather the necessary information in a timely manner. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Passion for literacy or education a plus.
  • Comfortability making and receiving phone calls is required.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Reliable transportation to get to/from the Ready Readers office.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and possess the ability to work independently.
