Bus Aide for Plano District 88 for the 2026-27 school year.
JOB GOAL: To help the bus driver provide safe and efficient transportation for students so that they may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the District's curricular and extracurricular programs.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director/Superintendent
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supports the driver by maintaining assigned seats, noting student attendance, and noting special pick-up/drop-off instructions.
2. Follows specific instructions for the supervision of individual students.
3. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
4. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
5. Enforces discipline regulations set forth in the student's handbook by reporting to the correct building Principal promptly all violations.
6. Performs the bending, stooping and lifting necessary to assist in the daily transportation of students with disabilities, including the manual operation of the wheelchair lift.
7. Assists children in the boarding and exiting by bending, lifting and supporting students as needed.
8. Demonstrates cooperation, courtesy and willingness to improve conditions and situations involving staff, parents and students.
9. Attends regularly, requests approval for time off, reports for work on time, and dresses appropriately.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director and/or Superintendent.
COMPENSATION: Based on Plano District No. 88's Collective Bargaining Agreement.
