Activities Aide
Department: Long Term Care FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Activity Coordinator
Position Summary Assist the Activity Coordinator in providing activities programs for all residents, responsible for helping with physical, educational, or social activities in a variety of settings. Duties will revolve around assisting residents or patients with use of equipment, and planning and monitoring their participation in various activities and outings.
Essential Functions
โ€ข Assists the Activity Coordinator in the planning, development, and implementation of activities/programs which enrich the lives of the residents.
โ€ข Develop and lead small, medium and large group activities.
โ€ข Contribute to residents' care planning: assessments, care plan goals and approaches, and progress notes.
โ€ข Assist with documentation.
โ€ข Conduct one-to-one programs.
โ€ข Assist with field trips and outings, which may require the operation of a company vehicle.
โ€ข Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications/Education
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED
โ€ข Current CPR and First Aid Certificates to be obtained within 6 months of employment
โ€ข Current driver's license (must be 21 years of age due to CCMSD insurance policy stipulations)
Experience
โ€ข Previous experience in a long term care setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
โ€ข Excellent patient care skills.
โ€ข Professional and discrete manner at all times.
โ€ข Ability to communicate effectively and verbally as well as the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
โ€ข Ability to work independently and with supervision.
โ€ข Good driving record and ability to drive safely in various weather conditions.
