What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a professor PhD?

To thrive as a Professor PhD, you need deep subject-matter expertise, a doctoral degree, and a strong record of research and academic scholarship. Exceptional communication, mentoring abilities, and organizational skills help professors engage students and collaborate with colleagues. These competencies ensure impactful teaching, innovative research, and meaningful contributions to the academic community.

What are common challenges faced by new professors with a PhD when transitioning from graduate studies to a faculty position?
