Responsibilities
The Welding Supervisor position is part of the Operations Team. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):
  • Develop and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for welding service quality, workmanship, costs, scheduling, and general performance of the welding department.
  • Must become knowledgeable about and adhere to various welding specifications and procedures. Assures the proper training of all assigned team members.
  • Foster an atmosphere that promotes continuous improvement of team members and processes, including cross training for flexibility.
  • Drive quality improvements and support on-time delivery to meet customer success.
  • Continuously assess staffing needs based on business needs.
  • Perform administrative duties to support the day-to-day business including approving of time sheets, time off requests and performance evaluations.

Requirements
  • Technical high school and/or trade school graduate in welding
  • 3-5 years of TIG welding experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Supervisory training or equivalent experience. Management training is desirable.
  • Must be able to communicate and deal effectively with every level of our organization.
  • Must have excellent people skills, oral and written communication, leadership, organizational and motivational skills.
  • Must be able to interpret and enforce the specifications and procedures related to the department.

Compensation
This position is full-time, non-exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
