Job description

About the role
Fanatics Markets is Fanatics' prediction market platform, letting users trade contracts across sports, finance, economics, culture, and crypto. We're building out our trading desk to provide liquidity, manage risk, and ensure tight, fair markets across our contract slate. We're looking for a Senior Trader with hands-on market making experience to help scale this function as we expand into new states and asset classes.

What you'll do

  • Make markets and manage risk across sports and financial prediction contracts
  • Design and develop models to generate real-time fair values for event-driven outcomes
  • Partner with quants, product and engineering to productionize models for live trading
  • Monitor, validate, and iterate on production models, continuously improving predictive accuracy and trading outcomes while ensuring robustness and operational stability of pricing models
  • Identify and execute market-take opportunities arising from model insights and prediction-market dynamics
  • Design & implement trading strategies to maximise volume and revenue while scaling automated decision-making
  • Manage forecasting along with P&L reporting
  • Monitor exposure limits and escalate risk issues.
  • Partner with product, quant, engineering, and compliance teams to launch new markets and contract types
  • Help mentor junior traders and shape trading desk processes as the team grows

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Economics).
  • 5+ years of professional trading experience in market making, options/derivatives, prop trading, or sports betting trading
  • Experience with prediction or financial markets - market structure, pricing mechanics, and liquidity dynamics
  • Experience managing a live book under time pressure, with sound risk discipline
  • Strong grasp of trading concepts, with the ability to think critically about uncertainty and model assumptions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with traders, product and engineering teams
  • Familiarity with CFTC-regulated markets, exchanges, or clearing houses
  • Interest in sports and event-driven markets

Depending on the role, your interview and onboarding experience may include in-person components, such as onsite interviews or Launching into Better: LIVE-a multi-day cultural immersion in New York City for full-time, non-seasonal hires. These sessions are designed to build connection and bring our culture to life, though specific travel and participation requirements will be confirmed based on your role and location. Your recruiter will provide clear guidance at each stage of the process.
