Overview
We are seeking a talented and dedicated linguist to join our team in support of the Texas Department of Public Safety - Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and be proficient in Spanish or another language, in addition to having excellent command of the English language.
Essential Job Duties
  • Conduct linguistic analysis and research on assigned projects.
  • Translate and interpret documents, conversations, and audio recordings from the target language(s) to English and vice versa.
  • Provide linguistic expertise and support across various departments.
  • Collaborate with other linguists and professionals to ensure accuracy and consistency in language use.
  • Participate in language assessment tests and evaluations.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Proficiency in Spanish or another language, demonstrated through a language assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good to excellent computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and other relevant software.
