We are currently looking for a Learning Specialist III to join our team. The Learning Specialist plays a crucial role in the professional development of individuals within the business environment. Learning Specialists craft and deliver training programs that aim to improve the performance and skills of their trainees.
As a Learning Specialist, you will work directly with the Learning Lead and Learning Manager to help team members effectively organize, plan, create and execute training projects. These projects include, but are not limited to: writing manuals, creating training content using Google Slides or Google Docs, conducting and delivering training sessions for various departments across the organization in a classroom style or one on one training session.
It is essential for the Learning Specialist to adapt their approach to accommodate various learning styles while collaborating with the leadership team to ensure consistent content delivery. Achieving this requires a combination of strong interpersonal skills and specific organizational and presentation abilities. Based on bandwidth, Learning Specialists may also be asked to support the Continuous Improvement department with special projects.
This role reports to the Learning Manager and you will work onsite Monday - Friday in the Santa Ana, CA headquarters. This position has the potential to travel as the company grows.
Onsite Requirement:
This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.
What You'll Do:
  • Spend dedicated time within our Operations department to learn our core processes firsthand. You must be proficient in the "how-to" of our business to effectively teach it to others
  • Assist training in all key areas of the business, including Operations and non-operation. Training will be delivered to new workers, agency temps, and existing workers across the organization
  • Support onboarding by conducting Collectors Orientation and site specific "Day 2" onboarding for all new employees and agency temps
  • Promote a "Safety First" culture by delivering training content for safety and compliance
  • Communicate and collaborate with Collectors personnel from all departments, divisions and different levels of leadership
  • Identify, enhance, facilitate and conduct training needs with the Learning Leadership's guidance
  • Improve policies, procedures, and processes through all of Collectors Values, especially in Seeking Feedback Early and Often to recommend and implement optimal solutions

Who You Are:
  • B.S. or B.A. preferred; 1-2 years of experience in a training environment preferred
  • Fluent in English with the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • You understand that onboarding is a critical business function and are committed to being onsite for the required Monday-Friday schedule
  • You are able to transition between a classroom environment and the Operations floor to learn technical processes
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings to all levels of the organization
  • Attendance must be reliable, and you must be flexible to altering and/or changing your shift
  • Strong computer skills (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Slides, etc.).
  • Proven work experience training others
  • Proven experience in designing training events in a corporate setting, including technical writing skills (writing manuals) is a plus
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.)
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and time management skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time
  • Hand Use: Regular hand use for various tasks
  • Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 25 pounds
  • Phone Answering: Talking on the phone and texting may be required, as well as manual dexterity to operate a computer and phone system efficiently
  • Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for this position is $21.50-$23.50. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
