Become a Professional Land Surveyor at Southern California Edison (SCE) within the Land Surveying Group and support critical infrastructure projects through expert technical guidance and professional judgment. In this role, you will function as a senior technical authority and Project Surveyor, working closely with Land Survey Specialists and Senior Land Survey Specialists to guide survey and mapping efforts from initial request through final deliverable. This position provides advanced advisory services, quality assurance, scope development, and statutory and legal interpretation under California land survey law.

Responsibilities
  • Advises on survey strategy for major infrastructure projects.
  • Reviews and approves legal boundary determinations.
  • Supports resolution of disputes or regulatory issues.
  • Provides expert review and approval of high-risk or complex survey documents.
  • Develops and maintains surveying standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Advises on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Supports cross-functional initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Mentors and provides technical assistance to junior staff.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience performing complex survey analysis and preparing legal documentation.
  • Experience in risk-mitigation strategy development and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of standards and compliance.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of California
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible professional land surveying experience.

Additional Information
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
