All of our medical doctors are board certified ophthalmologists with extensive experience in all areas of ophthalmic medicine.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Surgical Coordinator Supervisor is to provide effective and proactive management of surgical operations; to ensure exceptional service to our patients and to achieve annual operational and financial goals. The Supervisor engages in developing and implementing action plans to meet annual goals and to resolve surgical scheduling issues. The Surgical Coordinator Supervisor develops a culture of extraordinary and respectful collaboration by carefully overseeing effective work performance by surgical counselors.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in the development of and oversees the implementation and evaluation of programs and processes to provide necessary patient care services using appropriate resources. (Oversees Surgical Counselors and all their responsibilities which include education, insurance verification and financial patient responsibility)
  • Reviews care and performance standards to ensure that identified patient care needs and regulatory requirements are met and/or exceeded.
  • Reviews task and follows up with patients that have not booked surgery by calling
  • Works collaboratively with surgery Center team to ensure optimal patient flow
  • Supports and contributes to new or ongoing projects within the organization.
  • Optimal patient care and cost effective management is maintained through utilization of data and information from quality assessment and standards monitoring.
  • Coaches and develops staff to provide service excellence with patient care.
  • Assists with creating and implementing internal processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and ensure quality patient care.
  • Contributes to the team effort by completing other projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • An associate degree in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2-3 years of related work experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, develop, train, coach, evaluate, communicate, and discipline individual staff members, as necessary.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Knowledge of and experience in a surgically related field, such as surgical technology, medical equipment maintenance, medical device service and support.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Prior clinic management experience strongly preferred.
  • Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and build consensus among cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to the next level.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
