Job description

Professional Development Specialist: Keller Rohrback L.L.P., a Pacific Northwest-based, nationally recognized law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Professional Development Specialist for our Seattle office. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, customer-focused individual with a passion for developing and mentoring talent. Under the direction of the Director of Administration, this position will manage training, mentoring, and onboarding programs for attorneys to support their career progression and meet firm objectives. This hybrid, exempt position is assigned to our Seattle office and reports to our Director of Administration and Human Resources Manager.


Essential Job Duties:


  • Conduct learning requirements analysis and establish learning objectives
  • Organize and execute attorney training programs, including workshops, orientations, and practice-based meetings on subjects based on learning objectives.
  • Organize and execute attorney learning events and knowledge transfer by teaching and team coaching, observing and tracking attorney performance.
  • Conduct coaching sessions to improve individual and group performance.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment and address any problem behaviors promptly in accordance with firm policies.
  • Perform individual and group assessments and recommend process and performance improvements.
  • Manage Continuing Legal Education (CLE) compliance, accreditation submissions, and track lawyer progress.
  • Support mentor-mentee pairings, orientation for lateral hires, and overall integration efforts for new attorneys.
  • Assist with the development and execution of attorney performance reviews.
  • Track and report on participation, feedback, and performance metrics to enhance developmental programs.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives, career development initiatives, and practice management goals.
  • Manage the firmโ€™s Summer Associate Program, including developing application guidelines, tracking applicants and interviews, developing supervisor/mentor relationships, and overseeing/managing workflow.
  • Work closely with Supervising Partners to develop and advocate for associatesโ€™ career progression.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in HR, Education, Business, or a related ๏ฌeld.
  • 3+ years in learning and development, professional services, or legal environments.
  • Pro๏ฌciency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or talent management software.
  • Direct experience with legal career tracking and competency modeling.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with professional development within a multi-office law firm preferred.



Salary: $125,000/year (DOE)
