Job description

Professional Development Events and Operations Coordinator

Cooley is seeking a Professional Development Events and Operations Coordinator to join the Professional Development team.

Position summary: The Professional Development Events and Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Professional Development events and providing logistics and operational support for the Professional Development department, with a primary focus on the planning and execution of PD Academies and other firmwide learning initiatives. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Maintain firmwide Professional Development calendar for PD events and Academies; distribute timely updates and changes
  • Coordinate scheduling and end-to-end logistics for PD events and initiatives (including PNC/SC)
  • Manage registrations, attendance, and event rooming lists
  • Provide onsite event support, including check-in, materials distribution, speaker support, and issue resolution
  • Liaise with Marketing, Creative, and Technology to coordinate event communications, deliverables, and technical requirements
  • Develop and maintain templates and tools for PD (e.g., tip sheets invitations, agendas, checklists, and evaluation forms)
  • Standardize procedures across annual Academies
  • Process invoices and expenses; support department budget tracking and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve recurring event and administrative processes by developing standardized workflows, templates and documentation and by thoughtfully leveraging firm-approved technology and automation tools.
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Available to work overtime, as required
  • 2+ years of direct related experience (e.g., administrative, project coordination or event coordination) experience)
  • Technical problem-solving abilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in professional services firm
  • Interest in learning and applying firm-approved AI and automation tools to streamline administrative and event coordination workflows

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $30.50 - $45.00 ($63,440.00 - $93,600.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
