Job description

We are Para la Naturaleza, a nonprofit environmental organization based in Puerto Rico, and we are looking for a relationship-driven professional to join our Fundaraising team!

Our Major Gifts Coordinator plays a key role in growing support for Para la Naturaleza by building meaningful relationships with individual donors and members of our AMIGOS program. This position is responsible for identifying prospective donors, cultivating long-term partnerships, presenting giving opportunities, and stewarding donors throughout their philanthropic journey.

We are looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people, identifying opportunities, influencing decisions, and achieving fundraising goals through strategic relationship management. If you have a background in consultative sales, business development, account management, membership programs, or fundraising, we'd love to hear from you. This role combines relationship-building, strategic outreach, donor engagement, proposal development, and pipeline management to help advance our conservation mission.

This position requires willingness to travel, work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. Field work may occasionally be required.

  • Identify new fundraising opportunities and grow the Individual Giving and AMIGOS donor pipeline.
  • Present giving opportunities and inspire philanthropic support aligned with Para la Naturaleza's mission.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, donor communications, reports, and stewardship materials.
  • Track donor activities, commitments, and fundraising opportunities using donor management systems.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to implement fundraising strategies and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Represent Para la Naturaleza at meetings, donor visits, and special events as assigned.

We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, Humanities, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, consultative sales, business development, account management, customer relationship management, donor relations, or comparable roles.
  • Demonstrated success building long-term relationships and managing a portfolio of clients, members, or donors.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, networking, and communication skills.
  • Experience writing proposals, presentations, reports, or business correspondence in English and Spanish.
  • Experience with CRM or donor management platforms is highly desirable.
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Availability to travel and work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
