Professional Care Workers are individuals trained to support people who need assistance with daily living activities due to age, illness, or disability. They work in a variety of settings, including private homes, care homes, and community centers. Their responsibilities often include helping with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and offering companionship. Professional Care Workers play a vital role in improving the quality of life and independence of those they care for. They may also work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of their clients.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a professional care worker?

To thrive as a Professional Care Worker, you need a solid understanding of caregiving techniques, personal care routines, and often a relevant qualification such as an NVQ in Health and Social Care. Familiarity with care planning software, basic medical equipment, and safeguarding protocols is typically required.
