Job description

Location: Charlotte, NC
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will support operational purchasing activities for our greenfield power transformer factory, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. This includes evaluating and engaging suppliers, maintaining compliance with procurement processes, and conducting site visits as needed.
You will also contribute to procurement controlling activities by preparing reports, tracking key financial and performance metrics (e.g., cost savings, budget alignment, purchasing volumes), and consolidating data for management reviews.
How You'll make an Impact
  • Manage operative sourcing activities for categories such as transport, field service, packing materials, rubber bags, and other business ‑specific requirements.
  • Execute the full purchasing cycle, including placing purchase orders, obtaining order confirmations, resolving invoice discrepancies, and ensuring timely supplier payments.
  • Ensure consistent application of globally defined procurement methods, processes, and systems to maintain high process efficiency and compliance (e.g., Purchase‑to‑Pay (P2P), procurement guidelines, IT tools).
  • Coordinate with suppliers to meet operational and customer requirements, ensuring clear communication and timely escalation of risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Support supplier‑related activities such as strategic evaluations, risk assessments, and data management within SAP Ariba.
  • Support procurement controlling by monitoring purchasing volumes, preparing reports and presentations, and tracking cost‑saving initiatives to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate technical clarifications between suppliers and project execution teams when needed

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience within Procurement and bachelor's degree in business or finance. Previous experience in the Energy industry or power transformers business is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in procuring a broad range of operational materials and services, including transport, field service support, rubber bags, and other business‑specific materials
  • Has knowledge of sending RFQ to potential suppliers for quotation, keeping in view the updated approved supplier list, and introducing new suppliers where necessary.
  • Experience supporting internal external audits, ensuring compliance and process improvement, is a plus.
  • If not already located in the Charlotte, NC area, must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
