Job description

Bloomington Transit is seeking dedicated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Bus Drivers. As a vital part of our community transportation network, Bus Drivers provide reliable and courteous service to passengers throughout Bloomington. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy working with people and are interested in building a long-term career in public transit. Responsibilities
  • Safely operate transit buses along designated routes and schedules
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and answering questions
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly
  • Work varying days and hours, including weekends, as required by the schedule
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (paid training provided)
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, BMV license check, and criminal background check
