Job description

Bloomington Transit is seeking dedicated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Bus Drivers. As a vital part of our community transportation network, Bus Drivers provide reliable and courteous service to passengers throughout Bloomington. Responsibilities
  • Safely operate transit buses along designated routes and schedules
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and answering questions
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly
  • Work varying days and hours, including weekends, as required by the schedule
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (as required by state law)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (paid training provided)
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, BMV license check, and criminal background check
  • Good driving record
