Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Physically able to lift 50 lbs.
  2. Must pass physical examination under requirements of IC 20-9-1, and to include passing drug screening and extensive criminal background check.
  3. High School Diploma or equivalent,
  4. Fluent command of the English language,
  5. Previous experience in dealing with school age and/or special needs children,
  6. Positive outlook and disposition toward the school corporation, the school and co-workers,
  7. Proven ability to work with special needs students, staff and public,
  8. Successful interview with Director of Transportation,

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist the school bus driver in the supervision of students while being transported,
  2. Maintain student discipline on the school bus while moving and stopped,
  3. Operate the school bus mechanical equipment to load and remove special needs students from the bus,
  4. In case of an emergency implement the Corporations evacuation procedure for removing students from the school bus.
  5. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
