Description Summary:
The Manager - Accounting supervises multiple accountants to ensure accurate & timely financial data for the client's corporate staff.
Essential Duties:
The duties listed below are the essential functions of this position, and they may change as the needs of the company demand. All associates are expected to do what is necessary to get the work done and to cooperate fully with their supervisor's requests for additional or altered duties.
  • Liaises with client's corporate staff.
  • Directly manages Staff and Senior Accountants including recruiting, onboarding, development, performance management, corrective action, and employee coaching in consultation with the Director of Professional Accounting Services and HR.
  • Monitor compliance with established internal and external procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Monitor workload and special requests to determine feasibility, deadlines, workload equity and efficiency.
  • Maintain professional and responsive communication with clients and internal team members
  • Leverage approved AI-enabled tools and automation technologies to improve efficiency, identify anomalies, support reconciliations, draft communications, summarize financial trends, and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes while maintaining data security and compliance standards.
  • Supervise sales, use, & occupancy tax returns.
  • Perform periodic reviews of working papers, income statements, and related accounting schedules to verify accuracy and adherence to established standards.
  • Coordinate training for new employees and determine training needs for existing employees.
  • Handle special projects and new initiatives as needed.
  • Experience in authoring and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI). In addition to SOPs and SWI, you will also need to be able to conduct a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and issue notifications and proper follow up for After Action Report (AAR).
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in Accounting is required.
  • Proficiency using Accounting software packages such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, QuickBooks, Peachtree Accounting required; knowledge of M3 proprietary software preferred.
  • Prior experience in Hospitality or customer facing role preferred.
