Financial Products Intern
KENNEDY - KING COLLEGE

Kennedy-King seeks an undergraduate student intern who will help support several of the programs at the Illinois State Treasurer's Office. The student intern will be assigned to the primary projects detailed below, with a possibility for further opportunities depending on interest, availability, and need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Secure Choice

  • Provide support on employer compliance efforts, including:

    • Researching and making calls to noncompliant employers to assess if they qualify for an exemption or need to go through the onboarding process for Illinois Secure Choice

    • Supporting needs related to the formal enforcement process undertaken by the Illinois Department of Revenue in partnership with the Treasurer's Office and the Illinois Secure Choice program administrator

IL ABLE

  • Provide support to the program through follow-up calls, research, and assistance with events.

College Savings

  • Provide occasional support for small projects as needed.

General

  • Learn about the Illinois State Treasurer's Office, including major legislation and financial products

  • Perform other duties or assist with other projects that are reasonably related to the duties enumerated above

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Interest in public policy, public finance, and/or personal finance

  • Reliable and detail-oriented, excellent organizational aptitude

  • Strong overall work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong commitment to the mission of the state government, with the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the general public

The salary for this position is $17.00/HR.
