Grassroots Analytics

Washington, DC โ€ข On-site

$20/hr

Full-time, Internship

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Grassroots Analytics ("GA") is a political tech company dedicated to breaking down barriers in fundraising for progressive campaigns and causes. To facilitate that work, GA maintains a detailed database on more than 20 million active, left-leaning American donors, including data on net worth, ideological preferences, political donation history, non-profit donation history, demographics, and contact information. Our overall mission is to use that data to amplify forward-thinking voices, causes, and people.
Grassroots Analytics is seeking a Product Intern to join our Product team - a cross-functional group that sits at the center of how we build, refine, and grow our software products. This is a broad role by design. You'll plug into real projects and be expected to contribute meaningfully from the start.
We're looking for someone who is curious, communicates clearly, and can move between analytical and research-oriented work.
Responsibilities
Product Analytics & Market Insight (40%)
  • Help analyze how our products are being adopted and used - looking for patterns in engagement, funnel performance, and market opportunity
  • Contribute to lead scoring, segmentation, or other work that helps the team prioritize where to focus
  • Build charts, summaries, and dashboards that translate data into something actionable
  • Support go-to-market work where it intersects with product - including user education, onboarding, and adoption tracking
UX & User Research (40%)
  • Support planning and execution of usability tests, interviews, and surveys
  • Draft discussion guides and research protocols under the guidance of senior staff
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into clear themes, journey maps, or concise reports
  • Help translate research insights into concrete recommendations for designers and PMs
Product Operations (20%)
  • Assist with logistics, documentation, and coordination that keeps the team running smoothly
  • Identify opportunities to make processes more efficient - better feedback loops, cleaner documentation, simple automations
  • Additional responsibilities as needed
The Grassroots Approach
At Grassroots Analytics, our work is guided by the following principles:
  • Customer service is our core: Clients are always, without exception, treated with the highest level of professionalism and respect.
  • We model a high bar for performance: We operate with the best interests of both the organization and every client in mind.
  • We strengthen relationships at every level: Our "people first" approach builds trust with team members and clients alike.
  • Proactivity drives problem-solving: We look at the big picture to develop solutions, anticipate challenges, and prevent future setbacks.
  • Flexibility is essential: We adapt quickly as events change, take advantage of unexpected opportunities, and act decisively when needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Product Intern position will be:
  • Analytical and pattern-oriented. You notice things in data and want to understand what's driving them.
  • A clear and independent communicator. You can turn a finding into a write-up or chart without a lot of hand-holding.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to shift between different types of projects.
  • Familiar with data analysis, user research, or product work - through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
  • Familiar with data visualization tools, BI platforms, or UX research software
  • Interested in progressive politics and civic technology. You'll understand the stakes of the work faster if you care about what we're building toward.
Compensation
The expected pay for this role is $20/hr. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Chinatown office at 806 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001. The internship will run from September 8th to November 20th.
