Position Title: Stylist

Reports to: Studio Manager

This position is onsite and operates on a flexible, variable-hour schedule based on production and business needs.

Candidates must be local to the Baltimore area or willing to commute.

Position Summary:

The Stylist supports the execution of high-quality photo production by styling products, mannequins, models, laydowns, and lifestyle imagery in alignment with established creative direction and client style guides. This role is responsible for sourcing, preparing, and arranging props and materials to ensure visual consistency, efficiency, and quality standards are met on set.

When not actively supporting photo shoots, the Stylist partners closely with the Merchandise team to prepare footwear, apparel, and other products for photo production. This includes steaming, hanging, cleaning, organizing, and styling product to ensure readiness throughout the production lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Styling & On-Set Execution

  • Style products to meet photography briefs, client style guides, and creative direction while maintaining efficiency and quality standards.

  • Support smooth and timely transitions between products being photographed, including model outfit changes and mannequin styling.

  • Maintain visual consistency and accuracy across all shots.

  • Remain highly engaged on repetitive projects with strong attention to detail and adherence to styling standards.

  • Identify opportunities for predictive improvements to maintain speed and quality.

Pre-Production & Documentation

  • Complete pre-shoot tasks assigned by the Photographer, Lead Stylist, Project Manager, and/or Studio Manager, including product receiving, steaming, styling footwear, prop sourcing, and setting mannequin stands.

  • Create written documentation and visual references to support styling standards and client style guides.

  • Train and support fellow team members on established styling standards as needed.

  • Contribute insights and action items during Pre-Production meetings and Postmortems to support continuous improvement.

Wardrobe, Props & Inventory

  • Build and maintain wardrobe and accessory selections, including coordinating temporary acquisitions and ensuring accurate returns.

  • Maintain mannequin, prop, and styling inventory, identifying repair or replacement needs.

  • Ensure styling prep areas, on-set zones, and product storage areas remain clean, organized, and efficient.

  • Support overall product flow into, within, and out of the studio as requested by studio leadership.

Logistics & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Ensure products are properly prepared for return to clients and coordinate shipping as needed.

  • Package, ship, and track outgoing products.

  • Complete stylist project documentation accurately and on time, including production calendars, daily summaries, expense reports, time tracking, and mileage.

  • Adhere to production timelines and studio processes throughout the lifecycle of each project.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to style products to maximize presentation through material, silhouette, and prop selection.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced, changing production environments.

  • Clear and professional communication skills across in-person, phone, and email interactions.

  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive internal and external relationships.

  • Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous learning and improvement.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently or collaboratively.

  • Ability to meet daily accuracy and time allocation standards.

  • Comfortable handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.

  • Calm, respectful, and collaborative demeanor, including during conflict resolution.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Moderate proficiency using macOS and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Familiarity with digital photography equipment and workflows preferred.

  • Experience using web-based database and inventory management tools (e.g., Workhorse, Access, barcoding software) preferred.

  • Merchandising or photography certificate preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a stylist, photographer's assistant, visual merchandiser, or in a related role.
