Job description

Market Sales Specialist, Automotive Collision Coatings Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions. The Market Sales Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining a strong portfolio of Economy Segment business within a defined market area. The Market Sales Specialist will partner with customers to foster their long-term success by ensuring that all elements of the business agreement are delivered and work to develop and close Sales Leads. The Market Sales Specialist works with a high sense of urgency and demonstrates ownership, commitment, and accountability to Regional and Axalta goals. Focus is on paint (all coatings), protective coatings, fillers, aerosol, putties, glazes and adjacencies to ensure revenue generation and target achievement within an annual budget per product segments.

Please note: This fully remote role requires a local presence in the Metro LA, CA surrounding area due to the assigned territory. You must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without restriction nor sponsorship. We are an equal opportunity employer and will not be offering visa sponsorship for this role. Travel required: approx. 50% throughout assigned territory (primarily local).

Expected Compensation:
  • We consider an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience to determine final salary.
  • This role is eligible for benefits such as health insurance and paid time off.
  • The expected compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually plus a sales incentive target of 30%.
  • The actual offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate's qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as primary point of contact for identified customers and builds strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Responsible for growing new business by selling solutions to Economy segment target accounts.
  • Accountable for developing a professional network to build a pipeline of business prospects.
  • Understands key elements of the business agreement with each customer.
  • Executes account plans capturing the product, color and services needs of the customer.
  • Understands and accurately communicates the values and benefits of Axalta product, color, and services.
  • Actively participate in the preparation and execution of sales plans, events and campaigns.
  • Maintains an organized communication approach with a regular customer call schedule and clearly documents customer interactions within SFDC.
  • Follows-up on issues in a timely manner and identifies and advises on process improvements to alleviate roadblocks facing the customer.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and contributes to regional team's expected results for revenue, profitability, customer retention, and distributor management with a high sense of urgency.
  • Provides support on standard operating procedures (SOP's) and ensures customer is aware of education and support available through Axalta Training Classes and Local Performance Groups.
  • Leads all conversions efforts and solicits Technical Service Specialists to support the customer.
  • Maintains accurate account information and contact data in SalesForce (SFDC).
  • Utilizes appropriate technological resources to further individual productivity and enhance communication with co-workers and customers.
  • Always demonstrates safety awareness.
  • Manages overall selling expense within designated budget.
Job Qualifications:
  • An experienced sales professional with Automotive Refinish background and a strong track of successful customer support.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or at least 3-5 years of Automotive Refinish industry experience.
  • Working knowledge Axalta's core product lines and collision repair shop business fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of the collision repair shop business environment as well as distribution fundamentals.
  • Spanish fluency an added plus.
  • Effectively identifies customer needs and responds quickly to resolve problems using a collaborative approach.
  • Self-disciplined and able to perform effectively in unstructured and autonomous conditions.
  • Presents oneself in professional manner throughout all levels of the organization and considers how actions will affect customers.
  • Strong team player and actively seeks opportunities to support regional activities and meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Competent computer skills, proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SalesForce.
  • Must be willing and able to travel > 50% of the time.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
